Before You Start, make sure you have the following details to hand:
- Email address
- Email password
- Incoming mail server (POP or IMAP)
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
Step 1: Open Mail Settings
- Open Outlook (New) on your PC
- In the top menu, click the Settings cog/icon in the top-right corner
- Select the Accounts
- Click Email Accounts
- Click Add account
- Enter your email address
- Click Continue
Step 2: Choose Advanced Setup
Outlook doesn’t automatically configure your account so you’ll need to select “Other” or choose IMAP or POP for the account type.
Step 3: Enter Server Settings
- Important: Toggle Show More to show the full settings
Account Type: IMAP
- Incoming server (IMAP): imap.freecom.net
- Port: 993
- Encryption: SSL/TLS
- Username: Full email address
- Password: Email password
Account Type: POP
- Incoming server (IMAP): pop.freecom.net
- Port: 995
- Encryption: SSL/TLS
- Username: Full email address
- Password: Email password
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
- Server: smtp.freecom.net
- Port: 587
- Encryption: STARTTLS
- Username: Full authentication username
- Password: Email authentication password
Step 4: Complete Setup
Once verified, click Continue
Your mailbox will now appear in the left-hand sidebar. Allow a few minutes for emails to sync.
